some will say they understand
and so demonstrate their ignorance
saving things for "later" that are meant
to be burned to the dust
saying things like "we're in no rush"
yet speeding into tickets
locking cars and hiding bikes
in places no thief wanders
headaches from sobriety
you should have had more drugs
you stupid fucking kids are stupid
don't even know if you had fun
meanwhile me I have no other feelings
but sincerity and love
gifted to me by a thousand strangers
and the fire in each one
